The Sunderbans
It was my last Spring Fest, the socio-cultural festival of IIT Kharagpur. Nevertheless, the idea of giving it a ditch was constantly hovering my mind. Thats when it all happened. Eight souls..one mini-launch..the clear sky..the fresh water..the fine breeze ..n one helluva mission! The ARMY!

The Battlefield
The Sunderbans - Part of the world's largest delta formed by the rivers Ganges,Brahmaputra and Meghna. A network of estuaries, tidal rivers, and creeks intersected by numerous channels, it encloses flat, marshy islands covered with dense forests

Deer at Do-Khali
The only pic with all 8 of us - this was taken at Do-Khali... there was a watch tower from where you could see the deep forest. Two straight lanes were cleared off vegetation so that any animal which crosses this narrow barren part could be spotted from far off...We did turn lucky as we finally saw a creature catwalking down ....
This is what we didnt see .....
Nevertheless, the day was replete with many highs....the weather was awesome, the waters placid, the sunset beautiful (camera batteries ran down), the confluence of five rivers breathtaking and the sleep at night in the boat -priceless!
Woke up the next morning only to be totally fogged!
Cooked maggi with egg Bhurji for breakfast....yummy!
All in all we HAD r share of fun..fights..dance..peace...didnt feel like getting back home that afternoon..
Sunderbans - An ideal place for an idle mind ....Felt like someone hit the refresh button on me!
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
